For this project, we had to create portraits using the lighting studio or a strobus kit. I knew that I wanted to create something that was fun and glam but wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do so. After seeing Marilyn Minter's work I was immediately inspired. I wanted to create a body of work that was based around glitter. What stood out the most to me about Minter's work was that she only took photos of parts of the body, never the whole. So, I did the same. This way, the photo is not about the person, but the way in which the glitter is used on parts of the body. I created a body of work using lots of glitter (there will forever be glitter in the lighting studio) and materials to see how they interacted with the body and seeing how the body can change the use of the material, all using soft, pretty lighting.

Lighting Assignment
As a quick homework, my photographer teacher asked us to duplicate the lighing in a magazing add. Here is my work:
Narrative Project
For this project we had to create a narrative. My idea was to show the process of taking up a horse. However, I didn't want to do so in such a completely obvious way- first you brush, then you tack up, etc. Instead, I took shots from different angles and of different steps of the process.
